Dr. Jill Kitson

Dr. Jill Kitson grew up on a small dairy farm in Columbia City, Indiana, this is where her love of veterinary medicine developed. Dr. Jill graduated from Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Following graduation, she worked as a primary care veterinarian in Columbia City for 3 years. She came to NIVES in September 2007 as an emergency and critical care veterinarian. Dr. Jill has a strong interest in rehabilitation and sports medicine, and she became certified in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy in 2009. She and her team have worked very hard to develop the Rehabilitation Department at NIVES. Geriatric and neurological patients are very special to Dr. Jill and developing the right plan is always important to her. Dr. Jill continued to set professional goals and in December 2016 she became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Feline Practice. In August 2017, she joined the team at St. Joe Center Veterinary Hospital to focus on her feline practice, while still continuing to provide rehabilitation to the community through NIVES. In her spare time, she spends time with her husband, Mark, and their furry family members. She helps raise Oriental Shorthairs and Siamese cats and is actively involved in the Cat Fancy helping to educate the community and improve the relationship between breeders, owners, and veterinarians.
